We ate at Citronelle last night, which has a
reputation for being mecca in D.C. if you like food.
That reputation is well-deserved, for sure.
Everything was wonderful, and a couple of the dishes were like nothing I'd
ever seen before. However, I just can't help but feel a little out of place
in certain restaurants. Sometimes the aura of a place, the ambiance, the
dress code (jackets required), it gets to be a little too much for me.
I guess you need to find your comfort level.
The meal was amazing, and I hope to go back one day, sooner rather than
later, preferably. But I also hope one day I can feel like I'm not an
imposter when I eat in places like that.
