I don't suppose I can spend a few days at the beach and not come back with a picture like this. Not much to it, but hey, it's pretty...

So little time... I woke up at 5:30 a.m. to clean the apartment, do some laundry and take care of little chores that didn't get done over the weekend. Now it's 7:30 a.m. and I'm rushing to get stuff done...

I can't help but wonder sometimes how different life would be if I (we?) could find ways to slow down. Living in Washington (and it's the same in other cities, I assume), there seems to be a dearth of two things: time and space. We pay a premium for what space we can get, packing ourselves into busses and small apartments and crowded streets. And there never seems to be quite enough time to do all the things we want to.

In some respects, it's probably a good thing -- full lives, surrounded by people. And I really don't mean to complain. But Monday comes really fast, sometimes, and I find myself wishing I'd taken the weekend a little slower.
