four more days I spent a big chunk of the last four days baking bread. It's one of those simple and therapeutic things that takes time, can't be rushed and never seems to come out quite right. A definite work in progress. I probably made about five loaves of bread, and none came out exactly how I wanted. I think that's a good thing. Each loaf took time; I corrected different problems; patience was required; and yet each time something was wrong. Unlike last weekend, where I had four days off and everything flew by, this last weekend seemed long and lazy. Maybe baking can slow the aging process.

We didn't go far for Thanksgiving. Up to Baltimore to see family, eat some amazing turkey and go to an annual Filipino party that included more great food, line dancing (who knew?) and hilarious blessings — "And god bless the poor children of the world, at least, those not lucky enough to be adopted by wealthy celebrities." It's an annual tradition. The day after, we hit the Baltimore Museum of Art for lunch and to check out their collection of Matisse's paintings. Lunch was disappointing, but the paintings, of course, were not. I should actually have other photos this week, so check back in... — Robert
