A break from the Rome-photos ...

It's funny how you can be so near to something - next to it, or on top of it - and not know it exists. For a very long time.

Twice last week I found myself in "new" places; areas that I had been quite literally next to or on top of hundreds, if not thousands of times, without ever noticing. While this sounds like a relatively small thing (and I suppose it is), the truth is, it's quite startling to find something so new in a place you thought you knew so well.

I played pool last night. Anyone who follows this site knows I used to play more, but between this and that and other stuff, I haven't been playing too much lately.

The Ninja and I have been trying to get in weekly games though, and it's nice to be back at the table for a few hours every Sunday. It's a good routine to have. Once a week won't help my skills, but I'm ok with that; it's enough to just get out and play for a while. It's comfortable. And, of course, it always feels better to win.
