Beyond
the projects, writings, musings, photography and other things you see on this
site, I work as a reporter covering energy and business issues. I am also a
lousy-painter and hopeful baker.
I have worked as a waiter, janitor, photographer, obituary writer,
professional poker player and policy-reporter. I have a journalism degree
from the University of South Carolina and a culinary diploma from the Art
Institute of Washington. I twice won the S.C. Divisional Men's Fencing
Championship.
In 2005 I received a grant from the District of Columbia to complete a photo
documentary in Washington. And in 2006 I self-published a book of poems and
short fiction titled Twelve
Dreams.
In 2007 I moved from
Washington, D.C., to Carrboro, N.C.
