Team Wet Dog isn’t so much a 'team' as
it is a philosophy – it’s the idea of pursuing excellence. It’s the idea of
stripping away the non-essentials, baring the essence and acting toward one
goal. It’s a of way achieving an ends through a concentration on process.
There is a war against excellence going on in our culture today. Fewer and
fewer people spend the time and do the necessary self-examination to gain
the skills they want. Instead, much of our world has become a culture of
mediocrity — if you can't have the results you want, and have them now,
simply move on to the next, and easier, endeavor.
Too much time is spent worrying about results, and not nearly enough time
considering the process and dedication necessary to get there. Process
over product, is an excellent way to think about this.
The idea behind Team Wet Dog is to consider not only what you are doing, but
why. To demand honesty and self-examination. To enjoy the steps along the
way, knowing the destination arrives independently.
This site is also dedicated to the idea that
making connections with other people — honestly exchanging our ideas and
thoughts with those around us — is one of the most vital things that a
person can do.

However one chooses to
do that is, of course, up to the individual. But it is vital that we
seek out these connections, because they go to the heart of what it
means to simply be human.
Sharing our work,
ideas, passions and thoughts with other people is essential. And yet
it's something many people shy away from as they worry about whether or
not their work is "good enough," or concern themselves too much with
what others will think.
My artwork at Team Wet Dog is meant to be a way of demonstrating that
the work is often secondary to the personal connections it helps us to
create.
